Affiliate disclosure
The short version: right now, Cernary doesn't earn a commission from anything on this site.
Current status
As of this writing, Cernary has no affiliate relationships with Amazon or any other retailer, and no article on this site generates a commission for us. Product links currently point to the manufacturer's own page for that product, not to a retailer, and we get nothing if you buy through them.
Cernary has applied to the Amazon Associates program and is awaiting approval. This page, and this page alone, is the place to check the current state of that relationship; if it changes, this page updates first.
What changes when we do earn commissions
If and when Cernary is approved for Amazon Associates or any other affiliate program, three things happen at the same time: this page is rewritten to name the program and describe how the commission works, every article containing an affiliate link carries a visible disclosure at the top of the piece, and each individual affiliate link is marked as one, in line with FTC guidance on clear and conspicuous disclosure. We won't bury a blanket disclosure in this page while letting individual links look unpaid.
What won't change: a commission, if one exists, never decides which product we recommend or how we score it. Our verdicts are built from the evidence ledger described in the methodology page, and that process doesn't know or care whether a link pays us. We tell readers to skip a product just as readily as we recommend one, commission or not.
Other funding
Cernary doesn't currently accept payment from manufacturers or brands for coverage, review copies in exchange for a guaranteed positive review, or sponsored placements. If any of that changes, it will be disclosed here and on the affected articles, not left for readers to discover.
