What Cernary is
Cernary publishes editorial, informational content about consumer products, primarily kitchen equipment: reviews, comparisons and buying guides built from manufacturer specifications, manuals, published tests and owner reports. Using the site means you accept these terms. If you don't agree with them, the only enforcement mechanism we have is asking you not to use the site.
Informational content, not professional advice
Everything on Cernary is offered for general informational purposes about product features and performance. It is not professional, safety, medical or legal advice, and it is not a guarantee that a product will perform a particular way for you. Sous vide and food safety guides in particular describe general practice as documented by manufacturers and recognized food-safety sources; they don't replace your own judgment or your local food-safety guidance.
No warranty
We research every claim carefully and correct errors when we find them (see our corrections policy), but the site and its content are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that the content is accurate, complete, current or fit for a particular purpose. Prices, availability, specifications and features described on the site are subject to change by manufacturers and retailers at any time and without notice to us; the number on the page is the number we verified as of the article's listed date, not a live quote.
Third-party links
The site links to manufacturer pages, retailers and other third-party sources as citations and as a convenience. We don't control those sites, don't vouch for their content, availability or security, and aren't responsible for what happens on them. See our affiliate disclosure page for whether any given link earns us a commission.
Intellectual property
The articles, illustrations, evidence ledgers, scores and site design on Cernary are our own work or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright. You're welcome to link to any page on the site and to quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original article. Reproducing, redistributing or republishing substantial portions of our content, our scores or our verdict data elsewhere without written permission isn't allowed. Product names, brand names and trademarks referenced on the site belong to their respective owners; referencing them for identification and comparison purposes doesn't imply endorsement by, or affiliation with, those owners.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cernary and the people who operate it aren't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content, including a purchase decision made after reading an article. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited; where such a right applies, our liability is limited, at our option and to the extent the law allows, to resupplying the relevant information or correcting the content in question.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any dispute arising from your use of the site is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia, regardless of where you access the site from.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes, for example when we add a feature that collects information or when our affiliate relationships change. We'll move the date at the top when we do, and for a material change we'll flag it here for at least one review cycle rather than silently updating the date.
