Cernary Research
Byline for every Cernary article
Every article on this site is credited to Cernary Research because it's built by a pipeline, not a single freelance writer, and we'd rather name the pipeline honestly than invent a person behind it.
What Cernary Research is
Cernary Research is the name we give to the editorial process behind every article on this site: an editor who scopes the piece and makes the final call, a sourcing and verification step that builds the evidence ledger, and an AI-assisted drafting step that turns sourced claims into prose. No single individual's byline would accurately describe that process, so we credit the system that produces the article instead of attaching one person's name to work several stages contributed to.
How an article gets made
- Scope. An editor picks the product or comparison and decides what questions the article needs to answer.
- Source. Manufacturer specs, manuals, published tests, news and owner reports get pulled and logged with retrieval dates.
- Verify. Each claim is checked against its source and marked with a confidence level; contradicting evidence is actively sought out, not just supporting evidence.
- Draft. An AI-assisted step writes the article from the sourced ledger, with every factual sentence traceable to a ledger entry.
- Edit and publish. A human editor reviews the draft against the ledger, edits it, and is the one who publishes it. Nothing goes live without that step.
The full detail of this process, including sourcing standards and how disagreements between sources get resolved, is on the editorial policy page.
The honesty rules
- An article never claims Cernary physically tested a product. We do not test products hands-on. Every article carries a testing status badge, and research-based means exactly that: built on the documented record, not on unboxing it ourselves.
- Every factual claim traces to a numbered ledger entry with a source and a retrieval date. If we can't source it, it doesn't print.
- We look for evidence that contradicts a claim, not just evidence that supports it, and we report what we find either way.
- Verdicts aren't for sale. No manufacturer, retailer or affiliate relationship gets a preview or a veto over a conclusion.
